Hey guys, for the last 2 months or so I've been eating a high protein diet at 80% of my usual caloric intake. I've been dieting to try to uncover my abs. I had progress at the beginning, but lately haven't seen as much. Is there any chance I need to lower my caloric intake even more? Like if this caloric intake has become my new normal so now I need to only eat 80% of this amount? Thanks!
Short answer - there is a chance yes. But perhaps it's not that. What exactly will be the best for you is hard to say. Just don't be afraid to fail and give up because of that. Try different things and see what works for you !
Hey Matt, Chris answered your question quick and great, I just want to add to what he said. Many people give up at your point: because of a plateau, especially a fat loss one. I've been there. Yes it could be because of that, if you don't see fat loss for over 2 -3 weeks, I'd say it's because of that. I had a lot of progress in the beginning, but now it's just so hard for me to lose fat, I don't know why. There's a lot of strategies though, refeed day, or whatever. But the best bet is if you intake "hidden" calories they add up, try lowering that. Also it's easier to eat less unhealthy food than it is to eat less calories of healthy food, that's what I've noticed, it's easy to say NO to a chocolate bar, but it's really hard to say NO to something that's healthy, you'll just have to eat less of it or do more cardio if you don't want to eat less of it. That's why fat loss is so hard, it requires immense amount of discipline and dedication. Yea try some things, do some research, I haven't been so successful to break my plateau so far though haha, so let's see what works best for us :P.
Haha sorry man. And thanks you guys!
