Just wanted to gather some people's opinions on swapping activities out for others in the program. Example: attempted lvl 4 failed (only on dips), repeated lvl 4 and instead of lower back crunches/ holds swapped out for crunches and side plank. Reason behind this would be that both lvl 3 and 4 had lower back crunches so repeating lvl 4 would have meant 3x. Ahah hope u understand :p. Obviously this requires some common sense and u may so something wrong ( or just not the same as the program)
I think that's fine, combining levels and such.. Tomorrow I have lvl 6, but I don't think I can do negative muscle ups so I think I will 'skip' that [maybe replace] or just do level 5.. But for your case, I think it's not a big deal, nothing wrong really..
I see why you'd want to swap workouts, but personally it's more about repeating until I can achieve. The negative muscle-ups for example, I'd recommend sticking to them and repeating stages until you can complete minimum reps. To skip them now you'd only be putting off the issue and would likely struggle more in the later stages.
The program (to my understanding) is not about advancing through the levels as fast as possible, but more about doing them well and building the muscle required to achieve greater.
In my case, I've been working out for 4 weeks. I know I can't do a pull up yet, so I'm doing level 3 without trying level 4.
It's normal that u have to stay in a level for a few time, so for not consider it repeated change some exercise for example on Monday and Friday I do regular crunches but on Wednesday I do Lower back crunches
Like Hayden say, I don't think that the program consist only in advanced as quickly as you can through the level. If you have to stay in one until move forward to the next one, don't worry, it's normal
Well I tried lvl 6 and succeeded with the negative muscle-ups.. Yeah I agree you will lack strength and control if you skip some exercises
