I am in state basketball team and I have to practice for around 3 hours everyday out of which 1hour is pure running (lay up shots) would doing this come in way of my gains ?
You will have to compensate the calories burned with caloric intake. So if your maintenance is 3000 and you eat 3000 but now you burned 1000, the total will be 2000 so you will have to eat another 1000 just to get in a maintenance and then another 500 for a surplus to gain muscle. It could also hinder your recovery, so you might not be able to bust out as muuch sets & reps. But that's pretty much it..
