If it says for example 3-6 sets and 8-12 reps how many sets should i do to get hypertrophy training?
The workout program is already designed to promote hypertrophy (+ strength and less likely endurance), so you should follow it and do 3-6 sets as stated. What matters is that the level is tough enough for you personally so it can be a hypertrophy workout. Meaning you should be struggling to get 8-12 reps on each set, which will limit your sets, so you might do 3 sets of 12 and then 4th set of only 8, and then the 5th set you can't even do 8. So if you can do 30 pull ups and you do 8-12, that's stupid and obviously not intense enough, but if you can do like a max of 13 or 15 pull ups or something like that, and you do 8-12 per set, that's intense enough for hypertrophy training.
