I just wanted to ask how can we go past a plateau, I haven't lost fat this last month (no change in scale but of course the scale is not the most valuable thing).
So I've been eating in a caloric deficit and I went down from 93KG in February to 85KG now in May (well I hit it at the start of May technically), and I even took pictures to see progress, my abs are more visible, as well as my clothes fit better, however I still have fat to lose, I want to be at around 77KG depending on my muscle of course.
I just wanted to know, should I lower my calories, or eat less carbs maybe, because doing more cardio so far hasn't helped a lot. (I know it takes time, but I'm sure I have hit a plateau).
Good q!
Well, if you hit a plateau you obviously have to change something. If your goal is fat loss, then you need to be in calorie deficit correct. And lets say that works for you with eating lets say 2700 kcal for instance, but suddenly, it doesn't work anymore.
It can be, or it most likely is, because your body is adjusting it's metabolism. When youre working out a lot, your metabolism can change because of the amount of energy you now are burning by working out as well. If you want to be in calorie deficit, but youre not loosing weight now, you should eat less energy throughout the day.
Try to reduce your daily intake with lets say 200 calories every second week, until you see things changing :)
Hope that could help!
