Ok so I just did level 4 in the program, and I couldn't feel any form of burning or tension in my lats when performing the pullups. I did them as clean as possible, starting from a slight dead-hang, with shoulders retracted, and then pulling my elbows "into my back pockets" when going up. I went up as far as I could go, with my chin going over the bar, and then went back down again. I did 4 reps in the first 3 sets and then did my max in the last set, which was 5 pullups. When I did my last rep, I couldn't feel any sensation in my back, but it was my arms (I think my biceps) that felt completely exhausted. The same thing happened when doing Australian pullups. My question is then should I keep on doing the exercises as normal, or is there a special trick to activating the lats more?
Thanks!
There could be different reasons for this..
1: Your back is stronger than your arms
2: You are doing incorrect form even though you think it's right
3: Mind to muscle connection is important as well!
When I really want to hit the back I do pull ups while arching my back. I do that mostly with wide pull ups. Hope that could help!
