when I'm doing the side crunches I don't feel anything in the side abs. anyone have some good tips?

Just watch the video of 'Side crunches' and 'Crunches' and look how Chris is doing them. Lower back & feet always on the ground, and try to suck your abs in and squeeze them at all times, and do the negative part (from top to bottom position) slowly not just fall down to the ground with your head. Also try to go forward with your head/torso instead of going up so that your abs get even more squeezed (I know it's hard to understand but I really can't explain it better).
Mind to muscle. Focus the contraction!
