I think im stuck on pullups, i can do like 6 sets of 6-7 reps controlled pullups but i've been there for a while now, im gaining muscles but not strenght i guess, or maybe i just dont notice that im progressing slowly, anyone have some tips how to do more reps ? :D
It always feels like that I know. You probably are gaining strength, it's slow as you said. You're not gonna go from 5 pull ups to 20+ pull ups in 2 months or so. It's gonna take a while. Now, maybe you're just doing 1 workout routine continuously (I don't know for sure, but as you say I can do 6 sets of 6-7 pull ups, you might be doing just that), hence the muscles got used and you are not gaining strength. I'd say switch up. Simple: from regular pull ups, do wide grip pull ups, typewriter pull ups, around the clock pull ups, there's a lot of exercises you can do. And do Australians (like in the workout program 4-6 sets+max set of 5-12 reps). Or add a max pull up set with max pull up hold (no break in between) to really burnout your muscles. But keep focusing on feeling the rep rather than just doing the rep for the number, very important. Good luck! :)
