hey guys, I have a basement in my house, and there is this room in it where I'm planning to build my own calisthenics gym, I have some bars and staff to build it. the only problem is that the room is only 260 cm high and I'm afraid I will not be able to do muscle ups in it, I'm 170 cm my self and I will get taller because I'm only 13. so my question is if you think that if I will do muscle ups with my legs in a tucked/ normal L-sit it will affect my muscle up progression, because it will be a lot harder to create enough momentum and staff like that. (because I will not be able to straighten my legs) thanks a lot for your support, salute!
That's awesome that you want to build your own calisthenics "gym"! I have one myself💪🏼 I don't know about the muscle ups though, might be better if you find somewhere else to do them. Maybe a park close to your house or maybe somewhere outside or inside your house. Get creative(in a safe way of course). Hope you find someplace to do them, and hopefully close to your "gym". Good luck!!!💪🏼
Thanks a lot for your reply daniel but there is no parks anyware near my house, so the only option for muscle ups is in the "gym" I want to build. So does anyone knows if its ok to learn the muscle up in a tucked/ normal L-sit or should I buy rings?
I wouldn't recommend learning the muscle up with the L-sit. You will need full range of motion to learn the muscle up the best way possible.
Alright, whats do you think about rings? I can just put them on a tree or something
Personally, I've never trained rings in my life. But I don't think it's a bad idea. As long as it doesn't affect your muscle ups form, then I'd say give it a go!
