Hey i wanted to make this thread for those people who go to their school gym. At my school kids can get their own programme from the people running the school gym and pretty much all their is to it is bicep curls and benching and all weight related stuff. So i go but never ask for a programme i just do what im told to do on this calisthenics unity programme, but i have never seen someone do a Australian Pull up in this gym so i asked the one who runs the school programme and he told me an alternative. I told him that i struggle understanding and completing negative dips and pull ups so he showed me a different technique. I dont know if u have heard of TRX but pretty much he says this is the fundamentals of doing anything that involves shoulder strain (dips, pull ups etc). Long story short i told him that a main goal of mine is to do a solid muscle up. He told me that 50 percent of kids that try it in this school gym get serious injuries and end up having to go for surgery.
Im writing this as i think most school gyms are anti muscle ups, so im just trying to warn others to probably not try their first muscle up at a school gym and rather do it at home or local park
Also want to know would TRX be fine to use as a replacement for reverse dips and pullups in this programme?
Negative, negative dips and pull-ups. Well, I really don't know Bro. Does it work out your biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, and back? My sister used to train TRX, I'll ask her as well. If it does, well how different is TRX from calisthenics? I mean, if you can't do dips right yet, there are other exercises that you can do to progress and build enough strength to do them. Push-ups(many variations), negative dips, bench dips. And there are MAAAAANNNNYYYYY other exercises for your shoulders as well. Same goes for the pull-ups if you can't quite get em right. So, it's your choice Bro. Hope I helped!💪🏼
