I've been working out (seriously) since June now I'm starting the 16 week program with level five. I would like to ask, if it's okay to do some split workout on rest days?
Firstly I'd like to say it's not a 16 week program, you can use this program for years, the 16 week sheet is to tell you what you do if you fail a level or don't have time to do one (so you split it in half).
Now a rest day is extremely important, that is when the muscles actually get formed and grow. You need to burn yourself out in the workout that you don't feel like working out on the rest day.
On your rest day you can train handstands, maybe some tricks on the bar that don't use a lot of muscle, cardio. Just remember that you shouldn't overload your muscles again.
