Chris can i ask u smth,when i do australian pull ups.When retract my shoulder blades and starting to pull i feel smothing like pain in the lower back is it normal?

hmm. Try to visit a doctor or physiotherapist!

Hmmmm, it might be that since your body is on a kind of plank(horizontal position) your lower back may be holding some of your weight. It's not bad but you need to keep that in mind though. But like Chris said, it would be better to go to a doctor or physical therapist.

i`ll just wait for the new year and if the pain continuous i`ll visit doctor. Thank you guys, u really motivated me.

Hey svettrs,
when you perform the australian pull ups you have to flex your whole core. maybe you are just hanging in , using momentum and are not under tension. Maybe there is the problem, because if you do them without proper form it might be no wonder that your lower back starts hurting.

here is a picture of australian pull ups doing right, do you see the "Body line" (don't know how to explain in english), the body of the protagonist is completely under tension.
