Hey guys...started the program today, lvl 1- ok I did not clear this with flying colors...pull ups are really weak and push ups were surprisingly weaker then I thought...could do only 4 sets of 5 reps and then the Max set which could only do 4

But this is just the start iam not gonna stop till I kill the whole lvl 1..

Tommorrow will do some cardio sessions

But it's great to be following this program...just with the body weight excercise my body is feeling the pain...I guess it looks to be quite easy but it's way too difficult when you actually do it..

Hey thanks guys...the next day when I woke up I was like man..just body weight training is giving me this soreness...trust me all day long could feel the soreness in my back shoulders legs chest...that for sure explained that this ain't as easy as it looks....I just had one question on rest days which are almost every alternate days should we do some sort of stretching or cardio or hiit training... to get free from fat and the soreness??

Or Mayb just one day of crossfit as iam 66.5kgs and 167cms tall have like a lot fat around my belly..rest of my body iam quite lean..just hate this fat around my belly makes me look shorter 👀

i think that rest days should actually be REST days. thats when the muscle building is going on, not when you work out :)

some do cardio on rest days. that might be ok if your target is mainly to loose fat, but i wouldnt do it if your want to build strength and mass. as a skinny fat i would definately go the second path. cut the cardio and focus on building muscle. once you got them, it will be so much easier to loose fat!

well yes what you are saying does makes a lot of sense..I have been on level 1 now since one week..my strength and stamina is really low..but iam not giving up..I want to know if I should be practicing some progressions like planche and handstands for increasing my strength..like isometrics also helps to increase strength.

don't overstress yourself at the beginning.
chris' workouts are long and challenging so you absolutely need your restday. i also would recommend that you don't train for the planche till you got some basic strength otherwise it will be frustrating.

the handstand on the other hand is more about balance and in my opinion it won't hurt too much to practise it in your restday ;)

keep it up and pls guys, be patient. so many ppl are quitting calisthenics because they expect extreme results in short time. if lvl 1 is challenging now it will take you about 2-3 years dedicated training to work your way up to the end of the levels containing front lever holds and one handed chin ups.

Hey guys how's it goin..so iam in week 2 now still on level one..but I have really gained a lot of strength...now able to do 1 proper pull up and have increased the sets and reps...I guess this is for sure the most amazing workout programs..since it's making a strong base..but iam still so sad about my belly fat..iam sticking to a strict diet..but can't wait to see more results.

Ok that's my shape now..really need to work hard on that belly fat...hey Chris would really appreciate if you could give your inputs..like if I should do any sort of cardio or crossfit on one of the rest days to kill that belly fat faster???

And also about nutrition as iam a vegetarian so my protien sources are less but I did get some help from the other guys here on this forum and iam implicating that now in my diet...and for sure want all you calesthnics brothers to give your inputs too

At the start there's no need to, just clean your diet from high-calorie junk foods so you will eat less calories - calorie deficit, and then after you can't lose anymore weight through just nutrition (and calisthenics), implement cardio or eat even less.

Hey thanks gligor and max...well I would say it's been two weeks with calesthnics...I have just entered my third week...so to stay with both of you I can go on without cardio till the end of my fourth week..and then start cardio in my fifth week on one or two of the rest days..or Mayb do crossfit on one day an cardio on another...as crossfit really helps you increase your stamina and burns fat( with very little or no weights )...it's great to have this community to get help from all our calesthnics brothers...Chris really appreciate your forum and workout program..iam waiting for you to see my pics and advise thanks

Alright bro, I saw your pics. You don't look that bad but you've got work to do. First of all, I'd say most important thing is diet. Or how I'd like to call it, nutritional guide. Start eating in a caloric deficit. If your eating say 2800, take it down to 2500 or less. While maintaining, of course, a good workout regimen. I'd say work in splits if that suits you best(time-wise). You can do cardio if you'd like(or take less rest time in between sets). Two to three times a week is good in the beginning. Maybe you can bump it up to 4 in a few weeks. Don't expect immediate results(there might even be some). This is a long term effort and it's worth every goddamn second of it. Good luck bro!
